Why do you need to exercise even if you work at a physical job?
Many people think that daily activities give them enough exercise. When I advise my patients to engage in exercise activity, many answer: “But I move a lot during my work”, “I lift heavy files” or ” I constantly get up and down a ladder”.
People mistakenly think that daily activity can be substituted for routine exercise. They are wrong!
Even if you have a physically active job or lots of household chores, yourbody does not perceive them as exercise because it is simply used to them. In your daily routine when you use the same group of muscles repeatedly and do same movements, your body can perform with minimal energy because it can become very efficient.
The idea behind exercise is to break out of your routine and give your body something new to work with which can boost your metabolism.
In addition, exercise can greatly relieve stress you accumulated during repeated motions at work.
